In 1968, after a long record within the industrial sector as a supplier for agriculture, our family was manufacturing all kinds of farming implements, such as: threshing machines and grain cleaners, almond hullers or shellers, fodder choppers etc. Out of this virtually artisanal work environment emerged a great idea: manufacturing the first prototype olive cleaner. This was done with great enthusiasm as it was hugely innovative at the time. The successors to Rafael Hurtado Pedregosa, founder of the family business, drove this new idea.
Business activity was consolidated in the sector at the beginning of the 1970s as the first prototype olive cleaners were perfected and developed into a competitive market product. The product's expansion quickly caused the old sieves to disappear.
In 1974 the business was awarded First Prize in the VIII Olive Grove Mechanisation Contest which consisted of a demonstration of the operation and performance of the cleaning machine.

Activity continued as the business registered its own brands and patents for olive cleaning systems, possibly the first to be
registered in Spain. This was an era of great expansion with a large market share as such innovative and efficient systems did not exist at this time.
Another project emerged alongside this process that was also ahead of its time and would complete the preliminary stages of olive oil extraction a few years later: the olive washer.
The efficiency and success of this new system was outstanding and it was awarded the Silver Medal at Expoliva 1987 (Jaen).
A combination of technical renovation and the need to update the business’s image for a new era led to the establishment of the ASIGRAN brand. This represented the incorporation of new blood, the next generation, into the business who would help the company progress into the future.
New manufacturing methods, optimisation of resources, the reorganisation of production i.e. a drive towards efficiency to reduce cost and increase competitiveness. Results: ASIGRAN positioned as an indisputable quality brand in the national market and with great growth potential overseas.
In a period of clear market leadership in both performance and quality, ASIGRAN Cleaning and Washing Systems continue to surpass the expectations of clients and competitors.
Systems of ours that were manufactured and installed 10 years ago still beat the average performance of systems being installed today by other brands, even at the lowest olive entry rate.
It is no coincidence that today, more than 850 cleaning and washing lines are operating perfectly throughout Spain and other olive oil producing countries such as Italy, Chile, Argentina, Israel and Australia.
This is the clearest and most direct indication of ASIGRAN, S.L.'s expansion, and its competitiveness has allowed it to maintain the best quality to price ratio in the market since 1974.
Finally, as a result of this growth, the company's installations expanded to their present size of 20,000m2, housing industrial premises that occupy a total surface area of 7,500m2. These premises have the latest technical equipment developed by the metallurgy industry, a large transport fleet and a virtually immediate technical support service, particularly at the height of harvest.
